    COKER DOCK WORKER

    This person will load chemicals into or from tanks, trailers, rail cars or other various containers. Other duties may be assigned.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the barge swap out with the fleet which is handling the barge to place it at the dock.
    • Inspect all ropes, bits, and cables which will be sued to tie off the barge.
    • Communicate with the deck hand or Captain of the vessel to let them know where to place the empty barge.
    • Communicate with the room operator to payout the winch until enough slack has been deemed appropriate to hook up the winch cable to the empty barge
    • Inspect the barge for any damage, leaks or contaminants
    • Escort third party surveyor onto the barge to survey the draft of the empty barge.
    • Control conveyors to account for proper loading of barge
    • Assist control room operator with positioning of barge to prevent sinking
    • Monitor condition of barge while loading
    • Other duties as assigned.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Qualifications Required for this Position:

    Education – no minimum education requirements.

    Experience – 3-5 years experience in an Industrial setting preferred.

    Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.

    Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
