    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Sub-specialty: Advanced Practice Provider

    Department: Radiology

    Reports to: Medical Director

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Location: Austin, Texas

    Position Summary

    We are seeking an advanced practice provider to join our growing section of existing APPs in Austin. The ideal candidate would be interested in hospital encounters including consultations, performing history and physical examinations, post procedure follow-up evaluations with associated progress note charting, and performing procedures. Existing experience performing procedures is beneficial, but not an absolute requirement. Supervised education and training in image-guided procedures is available. Procedure expectations currently include lumbar punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations. Opportunities exist for additional training to perform image guided drainages, biopsies, and catheter placements. The work environment is highly collegial and includes direct radiologist interaction on a daily basis. Our workflow is highly optimized for efficiency and includes radiology assistants/support staff as well as in house IT. We cover a range of facility types including stroke centers and level I trauma centers. Outpatient clinical duties are limited but may include pre procedure or post procedure patient encounters in our existing outpatient interventional radiology clinic. The schedule has proven to be sustainable, and the case mix is rewarding.

    PRACTICE OVERVIEW

    ARA serves 24 hospitals and operates 18 outpatient imaging centers but by the end of 2026, we’ll be serving 19 outpatient imaging centers. ARA is partnered with the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas to redefine how diagnostic testing is designed, delivered and leveraged to improve the health. As a Radiology Partners practice, we are an innovative practice focused on transforming how radiologists provide consistently exceptional services to hospitals, imaging centers, referring physicians and patients.  We serve our clients with an operational focus, and, above all, a commitment to quality patient care.  Our mission is To Transform Radiology.

    Position Duties and Responsibilities

    • Hospital based consultations, procedures, and follow ups

    • Limited outpatient pre/post procedure clinic

    Malpractice coverage along with competitive benefits package and salary are offered. There is additional compensation available through productivity incentive program and call opportunities.

    DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Successful completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or by that committee's predecessor or successor entities

    • Passage of PANCE within 6 attempts

    • NCCPA Certification

    • Passage of the jurisprudence (JP) exam

    • Have practiced at least 20 hours a week for 40 weeks in one of the two years preceding application

    COMPENSATION

    The salary range for this position is 130k-140k. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
