EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a (Senior) Developer in the SAP HANA Database team you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues.

You will need to:
- Analyze the performance and scalability of SAP HANA on various hardware and virtualization platforms
- Guide SAP HANA development on the basis of feedback from SAP HANA hardware partners and customers
- Develop, improve and extend SAP HANA tools to analyze & validate hardware and virtualization platforms Your tasks will also include close cooperation with:
- SAP HANA development team, enabling core developers to make use of cutting edge hardware features
- SAP HANA hardware partners
- SAP HANA product management
- SAP HANA quality team

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
We require that you meet the core competencies and skills listed below:
- Very good analytical skills
- Familiarity with technical root cause analysis, debugging and analyzing complex problems
- Experience with programming (e.g.

Python, Shell-Scripting)
- Advanced skills & experience with Linux/Unix
- Good knowledge of hardware architecture (CPU, memory/especially NUMA, network, storage)
- Good knowledge of virtualization (XEN, KVM, VmWare, LPAR, Linux Container)
- Basic knowledge of database architecture
- Ability to work well in close teamwork in a distributed team over several international locations
- Good German and English language skills, both spoken and written

Preferred skills:

- C++ programming skills
- Familiarity with profiling tools like Intel vTune
- Knowledge of scalable software architecture & distribution strategies for data/tasks
- Knowledge of cluster file systems (GPFS, OCFS)
