Job Overview:

We are seeking a nurturing and dedicated individual to join our team as Day Care Assistant. The Day Care Assistant will be responsible for creating a safe, supportive and enriching environment for children in our care. This position requires a compassionate individual who is passionate about early childhood development and providing high-quality care to young children.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in supervising and engaging children during playtime, meals and naptime.
2. Assist with the implementation of age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
3. Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment for children including sanitizing toys and equipment.
4. Help children with basic needs such as feeding, diapering and toileting.
5. Foster positive relationships with children, parents and staff members through effective communication and teamwork.
6. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in childcare.
7. Follow daycare policies and procedures including health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool or similar setting is preferred.
2. Genuine love for children and a desire to support their growth and development.
3. Patience, empathy and excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to multitask and prioritize the needs of multiple children.
5. Basic understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
6. High school diploma or equivalent.
