The Supervisor of Distribution will report to the Logistics Manager and will work primarily on second shift as a Distribution Supervisor. Shift hours will be 2:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday through Friday and typically a Saturday at the end of each month. Additional hours as needed. As a Distribution Supervisor, you will have direct reports and will be responsible for their performance and development. You will lead your staff to meet internal and external customer needs in a safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manner. This position will be on second shift but will be supervising employees on both second and third shifts.
This role is responsible for two different teams of warehousers. The first team, working on second shift, manages the handling and shipping of the plant's finished goods and is comprised of 11 people. The second team spans across second and third shift, with 3 people on each shift, and is responsible for supplying raw materials to the production floor. Total direct report team is roughly 17 people.
The expectation for this role is that the Distribution Supervisor will work a typical second shift schedule most of the time, with the ability to flex hours and frequently come in later to support and supervise third shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on-site in Maimisburg, OH primarily on second shift with the flexibility to adjust hours to support and supervise third-shift operations.
Champion the safe and sustainable use of the warehouse by conducting daily safety audits, managing housekeeping and waste management, overseeing proper use of PPE and equipment, and leading 5S organizational efforts.
Develop direct reports through consistent feedback, coaching, formal training, performance appraisals, merit-based pay reviews, hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Ensure the department meets deadlines and maintains quality standards by assigning work, planning overtime, tracking KPIs, and engaging support resources to eliminate operational roadblocks.
Design and implement operational, inventory control, and cost-efficiency improvements in collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing Operations while managing the department financial budget.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field preferred).
5+ years of experience in manufacturing/distribution, including 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, warehouse management, and material handling equipment operation and inspection.
Demonstrated leadership abilities in coaching team members, managing performance, delegating tasks, resolving conflicts, and delivering results on time.
Skilled in continuous improvement project design and execution, with proficiency in information systems including Google Suite, Excel, Oracle, and Loftware.
