The mission will also be to define radio access planning guidelines and to coordinate the high-level planning & masterplans with the different Axian’s subsidiaries.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
1 – Radio Strategy & Plans
Prepare and maintain the transmission guideline handbook for Axian to define the best practices in term of design, capacity dimensioning and implementation of 2/3/4/5G and WIFI access network, this will include, new coverage sites, infill sites (for quality and capacity improvement), micro/nano/femto cells and access points, BTS config HW/features and antenna strategy, capacity monitoring and expansion, spectrum utilization, frequency planning and spectrum refarming.
To produce and maintain a 3-year strategic transmission expansion plan (incl. network design, CAPEX forecast, procurement timeline) supporting the business growth for each of the Axian Subsidiaries.
Coordinate with the supply chain to evaluate and define the products and vendors/partner landscape.
Own, Track and follow up the execution of the strategy & plans across Axian’s operations.
Ensure that the radio team skills are up to the standards by coordinating with the HR to identify the skill’s gaps and plan the right trainings.
2 – Radio database and change management process implementation
Harmonize and standardize radio access databases for Axian’s operations.
To maintain a centralized database will all radio equipment, network configuration etc...
To ensure that any change in the radio network is reflected in the database.
To monitor radio capacity utilization.
Establish and maintain spectrum database for Axian’s subsidiaries.
3 – Radio Capacity & Quality Optimization
To define all radio network optimization routines and to coordinate their implementation.
To define all radio engineering guidelines and to coordinate their implementation.
To define all radio spectrum usage guidelines and to coordinate their implementation.
To review system features and implement the selected features through the operation team.
To monitor the capacity and put in place the required expansion plans.
4 – Radio CAPEX & OPEX planning and tracking
To ensure procurement activities deadlines are met and to support procurement activities for radio equipment.
To advise on vendor strategy for radio equipment.
To optimize radio plans according to Direct Costs, OPEX and CAPEX implications.
5 – Technology watch
To look into technical alternatives (new technology, other best practices from Axian’s subsidiaries) with a focus on data to achieve radio requirements in a more efficient way.
Qualification, Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:
10+ years’ experience leading teams in radio Planning/Engineering
Master’s degree in Business Administration with Engineering background or MsC/Meng in Telecommunication, Computer Science or Electronics.
PMP Certification or equivalent is a plus.
6 Sigma Black Belt Certification is a plus.
Fluent both in English and French is mandatory
Excellent Understanding of Radio Technologies (2/3/4/5G)
Excellent tracking & reporting skills.
Good understanding of basic finance and financial reporting.
Strong leadership skills essential to lead and engage as part of an entrepreneurial team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of cultures and different types of expertise
Ability to actively make decisions in a promptly manner, always seeking positive results to employees and the organization.
Excellent verbal skills in order to manage different types of audiences
