Provides psychological consultation to school staff and parents, and psychological consultation, assessment, and intervention services to students to address learning, behavioral and mental health needs in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations and The Compass: Our Pathway to Excellence. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training, and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree, an advanced graduate specialist’s degree or certificate, and/or doctoral degree in psychology, education or human development; completion of a 1200-hour internship in school psychology, or its equivalent.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a Maryland Educator Professional Certificate with School Psychologist endorsement.
OR
Education, Training, and Experience:
Education, training, and experience as required by the Maryland Pathway to Initial Licensure for School Psychologist.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Educator Professional License and School Psychologist Licensure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Thorough knowledge of school psychology and practice in education.
Knowledge of and skill in the provision of psychological services to students, schools, and parents.
Technology competency includes knowledge of and skill in the use of the Internet, word processing, and related applications.
Knowledge of and skill in data analysis and integration.
Demonstration of outstanding oral and written communications skills.
Demonstration of leadership, management, and human relations competencies, including collaboration and team building.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work of this class is generally performed in a school environment. Work may require the ability to move around the school and classroom.
Conditions of Employment:

RETIREMENT: Eligible for the Maryland State Retirement System.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
All people employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109.
Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
If you have military experience, you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
Official transcripts will be required upon hire and must be sent via e-script/clearinghouse from your university.
Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
All newly hired personnel must attend a Benefits and Retirement Orientation meeting.
Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
