Performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to CLIA '88 guidelines; interprets and reports results for established tests and examinations in all areas of the laboratory: Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. The Hospital Laboratory is a specialized department responsible for performing diagnostic testing on patient specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and other bodily fluids. It plays a critical role in patient care by providing accurate and timely test results that aid in disease diagnosis, treatment planning, and overall health monitoring.
Job Description:
Performs a wide range of technical procedures analyzing blood and various body fluids to expedite the physician’s diagnosis and treatment of his patient. Records and documents this data in the lab computer system and in other appropriate areas. Collects blood samples and urine samples for drug screening as needed. Additional responsibilities include performance of quality control and preventative maintenance, specimen processing and patient venipuncture as needed.
