Job Summary
Operates imaging equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. performs other duties as assigned, including lead responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
- Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
- Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
- Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines.
- Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
- Coordinates patient scheduling, assign tasks to other Mammography Technologist, and monitor the overall workflow to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
- Provide clinical instruction, train new staff, and assist in ongoing education and competency assessments for the team.
- Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring the mammography equipment functions optimally.
- Oversee required documentation for a successful MQSA program.
- Completes assigned goals.

Experience
Minimum Required
- 6 months experience in mammography.

Education
Minimum Required
- Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
