Legal Counsel (German Speaking)

This Is What Your Role Looks Like

Basic-Fit is growing fast in Germany and Austria and keeps adding new clubs to its portfolio. As Legal Counsel, you'll be part of an experienced and enthusiastic legal team and a trusted advisor to our (international) business colleagues. With 1,650+ clubs across Europe, we're aiming to grow to 3,000 clubs by 2030 (through new club openings, acquisitions, and franchise) and you'll play a key role in this for our German and Austrian activities. Our Legal department consists of 18 team members under the General Counsel, and you'll report to one of the three legal team managers.

Your Responsibilities

• Advise the international German and Austrian expansion team, the real estate team, and operations on their questions.

• Draft and review commercial contracts, advising international support departments.

• Identify risk and work with the business to set up and maintain legal processes.

• Work on claims, liabilities, consumer law, and other issues relevant to Germany and Austria, in close cooperation with your legal colleagues for other regions.

• Support our second brand Clever Fit in Germany with franchise matters, such as contracting, claims, and litigation.

• Get involved in acquisitions and real estate matters (lease agreements), and pick up operational, consumer, or franchise questions as they come up.

Who Are You?

You're an action-oriented lawyer with a drive for results: hands-on, pragmatic, and experienced. You're curious, open, friendly, and highly structured, and you feel at home in a dynamic, international environment.

Additionally, we're looking for someone with:

• A completed law degree, ideally from a university in Germany or Austria.

• Native German and fluent English.

• Approximately 6+ years of work experience, gained as a lawyer or in-house legal counsel.

• Experience with acquisitions, real estate law, and/or contract law.

• Experience with consumer law and/or franchise is a plus.

• Salary: A monthly gross salary between €5000 and €6500 based on 40 hours, depending on your experience and background.
