    JOB SUMMARY

    POSITION SUMMARY:  

    The primary responsibility of the Human Resources Assistant is to provide support to both the HR & Marketing teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. This role involves a combination of administrative tasks, planning and event coordination, employee engagement support, contributing to marketing strategies, and ensuring seamless coordination across both departments. The Human Resource Assistant maintains utmost confidentiality in all matters related to the Human Resources Department, as well as other information obtained during duties. Represents the Human Resources Department and Bates County Memorial Hospital in a professional manner.

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED

    Skills and Qualifications:

    · Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required (or equivalent experience).

    · Previous experience in HR or marketing is preferred but not required.

    · Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    · Proficiency in graphic design tools are preferred. Such as Adobe Designs suite, Canva and similar.

    · Photography and videography and editing of such is preferred.

    · Knowledge of social media platforms and marketing tools is an advantage.

    · Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

    · Ability to work collaboratively and manage time efficiently.

    • Personal technology device to download applications to enable access to hospital email by multi-factor authentication.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Hours and Schedule:

    · 7 hours working day (to include unpaid 30-minute meal break), 4 days per week

    Human Resources Support:

    · Coordinate and assist with employee engagement, appreciation and recognition activities, including Hospital Week, employee recognition programs, retirement celebrations and other employee events.

    · Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting open positions, coordinating recruitment advertising and social media campaigns, and maintaining applicant tracking records.

    · Assist with tracking performance evaluations, distributing reminders and maintaining completion records.

    · Assist with development and distribution of HR communications, employee announcements, educational materials, newsletters and other internal communications.

    Marketing Support:

    · Help develop and execute marketing campaigns (email, social media, content creation).

    · Assist with parades and booths at local fairs

    · Assist in managing and updating the company’s social media profiles and website.

    · Prepare marketing materials, including internal communications, presentations, and email newsletters.

    · Conduct market research to identify trends and assist with strategy development.

    · Analyze campaign performance and report on findings to improve future marketing efforts.

    Administrative Support:

    · Handle scheduling and administrative duties for both HR and marketing teams.

    · Assist in preparing reports, agendas, minutes and presentations for meetings.

    · Coordinate with external vendors and partners for marketing initiatives.

    · Assist in maintaining the office environment and HR filing & invoicing systems.

    Other

    • Performs other duties as assigned by Human Resources Director.

    PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

    Physical Activity:

    · Work is generally sedentary in nature; you must be able to work for prolonged periods of time, sitting at a computer, but will require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.

    · Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    · Able to use computer proficiently; navigate keyboard and programs.

    · Regularly required to talk and hear sufficiently to communicate with staff and customers; speak on the telephone, conference calls, zoom meetings, etc.

    · Must be able to speak and communicate in English with staff and customers. 

    Lifting Requirements:

    · Minimal lifting required; usually no greater than 25 pounds.

    Working Conditions:

    · Adequate heating, cooling and ventilation, and workspace to perform duties

    Hazards and Risks:

    · Varies depending on area working. 

    · Usually no hazardous risks.

    Experience and Education:

    Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent required. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Journalism and Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
