    Job description

Do you want to help transform the auto industry? Come let Baxter Auto show you just how Remarkable you can be!

At Baxter Auto, our mission is to create a powerhouse of high-impact teams and leaders, deliver an exceptional and unforgettable experience for every guest every time, elevate and grow our manufacturer brands in our markets, and operate with discipline and focus to achieve operational and financial success. We are challenging the norm when it comes to both the car buying process and the employee experience, and as a Baxter Auto teammate, you will play a direct role in that mission.

    We value individuals who:

    • Stay curious by seeking different perspectives, learning constantly, and adapting quickly
    • Make it matter by maximizing impact and focusing on what matters most
    • Win together by operating with a team first perspective
    • Be caring by genuinely caring for and supporting others
    • Act with courage by choosing courage over comfort in their decisions and actions, even when it is hard to do.

At Baxter Auto we encourage and support career development, job opportunities across multiple professions, an inclusive culture where everyone is a leader (from entry level up to general management), and an almost obsessive focus on the employee and guest experience. Combine that with market-leading benefits and opportunities across multiple states, and we think you’ll agree that YOU BELONG AT BAXTER AUTO!

Your Purpose as a Sales Director:

Responsible for leading Sales Managers and Product Specialists to ensure that all sales processes and guest interactions are executed with excellence and a passion for delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role also focuses on developing and growing internal talent within the Sales Department to build a strong and future-ready leadership team.

In Your Role As Sales Director:

    • Lead, coach, and mentor Sales Managers and Product Specialists to strengthen leadership, decision-making, and operational effectiveness.
    • Create individualized development plans to prepare Sales Managers and Product Specialists for career growth.
    • Provide regular performance feedback and conduct one-on-one coaching sessions focused on leadership growth.
    • Model a positive, accountable, and guest-first culture that inspires the entire sales team.
    • Identify skill gaps and provide targeted coaching in areas such as team motivation, process management, and guest engagement.
    • Conduct workshops and role-play sessions to enhance sales leadership, deal structure knowledge, and team coaching abilities.
    • Promote continuous learning by encouraging participation in internal and external leadership development opportunities.
    • Oversee daily sales operations through Sales Managers, ensuring consistency and adherence to dealership standards.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and guide Sales Managers and Product Specialists to improve results.
    • Support Sales Managers and Product Specialists in managing guest satisfaction, lead response times, and overall process compliance.
    • Ensure smooth collaboration between all departments to create a cohesive sales experience.
    • Partner with the General Manager to set short- and long-term sales goals and align them with dealership objectives.
    • Develop and communicate sales strategies that foster growth, retention, and profitability.
    • Lead by example in demonstrating professional conduct, ethical standards, and a focus on team development over individual recognition.
    • Identify high-potential leaders within the sales department and provide growth opportunities.
    • Build a strong leadership pipeline by preparing Sales Managers and Product Specialists for future growth.
    • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing evaluation of Sales Managers and Product Specialists to ensure cultural and performance fit.
    • Foster a collaborative environment where ideas are shared and best practices are implemented.
    • Recognize and celebrate team and individual successes to maintain engagement and morale.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
