    Job description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under the general direction of the Advanced Office Technologies (AOT) Manager, the position oversees all facets of the retail storefront, POS system, inventory system, and purchasing for Bay Mills entities.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Coordinates the purchasing process, with the AOT Manager, to ensure all purchasing transactions are processed timely and correctly for various departments. 
    2. Researches suppliers to determine vendor with lowest cost and highest quality product. 
    3. Places orders for products such as tobacco, equipment, office supplies, print, retail, food and beverage from various vendors following departmental guidelines while monitoring shipments and deliveries.
    4. Performs store daily duties as needed to maintain operational demands.
    5. Records and processes coupon credits and returns.
    6. Produces and delivers invoices to departments for product orders while maintaining a filing and collection system.
    7. Receives and records payment from departments and fishermen for purchased product.

                8. Inventories and maintains appropriate stock levels of various products for various Bay Mills enterprises and departments to include, but not limited to; print, tobacco,         equipment, office supplies, Tribal garbage bags,  merchandise, sundry, food, beverage and fishing equipment.

               9 . In coordination with the AOT Manager and vendors, calculates appropriate store pricing for all items to meet department financial goals.

              10. Orders and maintains stock of popular products in store for sale to the general public while maintaining a clean and attractive display.

    1. Responsible for the sale of all store product to the general public, ensuring recording through the appropriate POS system and/or the Tribal tax system.
    2. Distributes and tracks senior garbage bag to eligible Tribal members. 
    3. Ensures all pricing, signage, and displays are updated at all times.
    4. Ensures that all cash activity is in balance and reconciles in a timely manner.
    5. Makes sure that all required daily and monthly paperwork is completed and submitted.
    6. Other duties as assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
    7. Must attend all mandatory trainings designed by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Manager.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Walking and standing for extended periods of time are necessary to fulfill this position.  This position requires continuous pushing and pulling.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while occasionally liftings and/or carrying up to 60 pounds.  Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time.  Must be able to bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, and balance on a frequent basis.  The employee may be exposed to mark changes in temperature, dust, fumes, and/or gases.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    2. Retail and/or office administration experience required.

    3. Computer literacy required with the ability to use general office software, including Microsoft Office Suite, POS, inventory and accounting software.

    4. Must have a valid driver license and insurable without restrictions.

    5. Excellent communication skills required.

    6. Must have an excellent past work and attendance record.

    7. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
