Position Title- Radiology Technologist Assistant / Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT)

Reports to: Manager

Position Goals

This job description for the Radiology Technologist Assistant / LMRT at Patients Emergency Room and Hospital provides criteria for evaluation in performance, attitude and discipline. The Radiology Technologist Assistant is responsible for supporting Radiology and MRI operations, assisting with patient care and workflow, and performing diagnostic radiographic procedures within the scope of an LMRT license.

Position Responsibilities:

· The Radiology Technologist Assistant / LMRT assists the MRI Technologist with patient preparation, positioning, room setup, and daily workflow. This position performs X-ray examinations within the scope of an LMRT license and assists with MRI procedures under the direction of the MRI Technologist.

· Assist with MRI patient preparation, screening, positioning, and transportation.

· Prepare MRI rooms, supplies, and equipment for examinations.

· Assist with patient transfers and maintain patient safety throughout procedures.

· Perform X-ray examinations within the scope of an LMRT license and facility policy.

· Administer contrast media for MRI examinations under the direction of the MRI Technologist and according to facility policy.

· Assist with MRI safety screening and maintain a safe MRI environment.

· Monitor patients during procedures and report changes or concerns to the MRI Technologist or Manager.

· Maintain accurate patient documentation and examination records.

· Clean and restock equipment and supplies.

· Follow infection prevention, radiation safety, MRI safety, and patient care standards.

· Assist with maintaining department readiness and efficient patient flow.

Position Requirements:

·        Current MA or NCT Certification

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· BLS certification required.

· Previous experience in radiology or healthcare preferred.

· Ability to assist with patient transfers and provide safe patient care.

· Ability to work collaboratively with MRI Technologists and other healthcare staff.

· Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and effective communication.

· Must be willing to perform X-ray examinations when MRI volume is low.

· Must be willing to assist with MRI procedures and contrast administration under the direction of the MRI Technologist.

· Ability to follow MRI safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.

Preferred Experience/Certifications:

· Registered LMRT
