Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and other accounting functions.
- Lead and improve the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial reports, management accounts, and variance analyses for senior management.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Review account reconciliations and investigate unusual or significant variances.
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal financial controls and accounting policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor financial processes to identify risks, control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Provide meaningful analysis of financial performance, trends, and variances.
- Partner with operational leaders to improve financial performance and cost management.
- Assist senior management with financial modeling, business cases, and strategic analysis.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
- Establish clear objectives, processes, and performance standards for the finance function.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting and reporting processes.
- Maintain appropriate accounting systems, procedures, and documentation.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and strong financial controls.
