    SUMMARY 

    The Director, Product Marketing is responsible for leading a team focused on Relias product and revenue expansion with fundamental work including market and customer understanding, ideal customer profile strategy, positioning and messaging, GTM strategy and execution, adoption, renewal, and expansion. They have a strong business leadership and shared accountability mindset for commercial results. They partner with product management to validate willingness to pay and the business opportunity to drive strong product-market fit and launch strategy. They lead collaboratively and cross-functionally, build consensus and influence, take initiative, and ensure alignment on work that results in business growth.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: 

    Applying market, customer, product knowledge from entire Relias portfolio to direct product marketing’s strategic focus, execute on our product expansion strategy, and maintain differentiated Relias positioning and growth:

    • Keeps up with industry and competitive trends, understands and directs use of ideal customer data and product data
    • Leverages client-facing colleagues, industry events, and internal data sources to validate perspectives
    • Monitors and interprets internal and external data to anticipate impact to business and commercial results
    • Suggests new products or enhancements needed to sustain retention and growth
    • Synthesizes organic and inorganic product expansion into Relias narrative and positioning and into all product marketer enablement

    Driving best-in-class product marketing collaboration, processes, and deliverables that result in effective product planning and targeted GTM launches and ongoing GTM strategy:

    • Directs strong standards for ideal customer profiles, willingness to pay, product opportunity sizing to maximize product-market fit

    • Leverages data at key decision points and communications during strategy, planning, launch and holds others accountable to the same

    • Creates strong connections for self and team with product management and front-of-house partners during planning, scoping, and launch

    • Ensure business and launch plans have informed and achievable commercial targets

    • Ensures launch KPIs are monitored and acted upon to drive improvements or anticipate new needs from team including metrics such as adoption and renewal

    • Identifies opportunities and drives implementation for automation and ways of working improvements

    Managing and coaching team of product marketers who are leading successful GTM strategy and launches:

    • Lead team of product marketers who understand customer requirements, validate willingness to pay, and formulate GTM strategies and executing launch plans and sales plays

    • Lead healthy debate as needed for whether a product idea is ready to advance to build stages

    • Offer direct reports and project team members coaching / feedback

    • Drive performance accountability and successful upskilling where needed

    • Foster culture of continuous learning and professional development

    • Other duties assigned as a marketing department senior leader

    YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE: 

    • 10+ years of product marketing or other related experience
    • 5+ years of leading a product marketing team
    • Commercial GTM results delivered leading at a B2B Saas portfolio company
    • Knowledge of B2B SaaS product marketing and portfolio strategy: Connects market, customer, product, and revenue evidence across the Relias portfolio to set strategic focus. Explains how positioning and portfolio choices support retention, expansion, and sustainable growth.
    • Demonstrated ability to define ideal customer profiles, market segments, and differentiated positioning and messaging: Establishes clear standards and decision criteria for ICPs, buyer needs, value propositions, and differentiation. Synthesizes organic and inorganic product expansion into a coherent Relias narrative and repeatable team enablement.
    • Skill in applying market, customer, competitive, and product understanding to product marketing strategy and go-to-market decisions. Integrates customer, market, product, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities, risks, and areas for differentiation, translating insights into positioning, investment, launch, and growth recommendations across the product portfolio.Demonstrated ability to assess willingness to pay, product-market fit, and commercial opportunity: Partners with Product Management to evaluate customer value, opportunity size, readiness, and pricing evidence. Constructively challenges product ideas that lack sufficient customer, market, or commercial validation.
    • Skill in designing and leading go-to-market strategy and launch execution: Creates integrated launch plans with clear audiences, value propositions, sales plays, owners, milestones, and achievable commercial targets. Anticipates dependencies and keeps Product, Sales, Client Care, and Marketing aligned from planning through post-launch optimization.
    • Ability to define, interpret, and act on product and launch performance metrics: Uses adoption, renewal, expansion, pipeline, and other relevant KPIs at key decision points. Identifies performance gaps, recommends corrective action, and holds partners accountable for evidence-based follow-through.
    • Executive-level written, verbal, and presentation communication skill: Communicates complex market and product issues with clear implications, recommendations, and decisions needed. Adjusts depth, framing, and delivery for executives, product teams, front-of-house partners, and direct reports.
    • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of product marketers: Sets role clarity and performance expectations, provides timely coaching and feedback, and addresses capability gaps. Builds team capacity through prioritization, delegation, development planning, healthy debate, and continuous learning.
    • Ability to improve product marketing operations through automation and scalable ways of working: Identifies repeatable processes and high-value opportunities for automation, including responsible use of agentic capabilities. Establishes practical standards, measures impact, and adjusts workflows to improve speed, quality, and consistency.
    • Bachelor’s degree

    IN OFFICE REQUIREMENT:

    Relias values collaboration and wants to ensure that our team members have opportunities to work with their teams regularly for professional development opportunities. Our flexible hybrid work environment requires that you live in the state of North Carolina, within a commutable distance to our office (~1-hour commute). You would be expected to work in our Morrisville, NC Headquarters (close to the Raleigh/Durham airport) approximately 40 days/quarter.
