    Job description

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Administer long-acting injectable HIV therapies and related medications according to provider orders and clinical protocols.
    • Assess patients prior to injections for adverse reactions, contraindications, and treatment compliance.
    • Monitor and document patient responses, side effects, and follow-up care.
    • Provide education regarding HIV treatment, injectable medications, adherence, and prevention strategies.
    • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
    • Coordinate medication inventory, storage, and handling according to manufacturer and infection control guidelines.
    • Schedule and track recurring injection appointments to ensure continuity of care.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers, pharmacists, case managers, and support staff regarding patient treatment plans.
    • Perform general nursing duties including vital signs, patient intake, medication administration, specimen collection, and patient follow-up.
    • Assist with prior authorizations, medication coordination, and patient referrals as needed.
    • Support infection control standards and maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
    • Provide cross-coverage and clinical assistance for other specialties and departments within the organization as needed.
    • Float between clinic areas or specialties to assist with patient care demands and staffing coverage.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and ongoing clinical training.
    • Follow OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and infection control standards at all times

    KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
    • 3 years of ambulatory care or community health experience.
    • Strong working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and documentation standards.
    • Experience leading or mentoring clinical support staff.

    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
    • Knowledge of EMR systems and clinical workflows.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, underserved community setting.
    • Commitment to culturally competent and patient-centered care.
