About the Role
We are looking for a ServiceNow Developer with 2-3 years of hands-on platform experience to join our engineering team. This role builds and maintains ServiceNow applications and integrations, with exposure to Software Asset Management (SAM), working closely with functional consultants and architects on scripting, configuration, and third-party integrations. The ideal candidate is comfortable across both the client and server side of the platform and is eager to grow into more complex integration and architecture work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy configurations and customizations on the ServiceNow platform, including workflows, UI policies, ACLs, and scripted components.
- Write and maintain server-side scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs) and client-side scripts (Client Scripts, UI Policies) following ServiceNow scripting best practices.
- Build and support integrations between ServiceNow and third-party/publisher systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Data Streams.
- Configure and maintain OAuth-based authentication for inbound and outbound integrations.
- Support and enhance Software Asset Management (SAM) processes, including license reconciliation workflows, publisher data feeds, and custom SAM reporting.
- Maintain and extend CMDB data — CI classes, relationships, and data quality — in support of SAM and ITSM use cases.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and QA cycles to ensure release quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes within SLA.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Document technical designs, configurations, and support runbooks.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2-3 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- Strong scripting skills in JavaScript, including server-side (Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, Workflow scripts) and client-side (Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions) development.
- Solid understanding of the ServiceNow data model, including tables, GlideRecord/GlideAjax, ACLs, and reference/relationship fields.
- Experience with Flow Designer and Integration Hub for building automated workflows and integrations.
- Working knowledge of REST/SOAP API integrations, including authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, Mutual Auth).
- Familiarity with Update Sets and application scoping.
- ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA) certification preferred; additional micro-certifications (CIS) a plus.
- API integrations: experience building or consuming REST/SOAP APIs with publisher or vendor systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, SAP).
- Flow Designer: building reusable flows, subflows, and actions to automate approvals, notifications, and data processing.
- Data Streams: configuring inbound/outbound data streams for scheduled or event-based data ingestion (e.g., publisher usage/entitlement feeds).
- Actions: designing custom reusable Flow Designer actions for common integration or SAM processing steps.
- OAuth: setting up and troubleshooting OAuth 2.0 provider/consumer configurations for secure third-party integrations.
- Entity Profiles: configuring entity profiles used in data source/transform pipelines for structured data ingestion.
- CMDB: understanding of CMDB classes, CI relationships, reconciliation rules, and data quality as it relates to SAM and asset lifecycle management.
- Experience with email-based data import pipelines (e.g., inbound email actions, transform maps).
Good to Have
- Software Asset Management (SAM Pro): exposure to license reconciliation, publisher packs, entitlement management, and true-up reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2-3 years of total ServiceNow development experience, ideally including at least one full implementation or support engagement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as within a cross-functional delivery team.
- Good communication skills for working with functional consultants, QA, and client stakeholders.
Working Hours:
- General shift with flexibility to support business and stakeholder requirements.
- May require coordination with global stakeholders across different time zones as per business needs
