Apprentice Field Service Engineer – All BLM Product Range

Role Purpose
This apprenticeship provides an opportunity to develop into a highly skilled Field Service Engineer supporting the full BLM product range, including laser tube cutting systems, flat sheet laser machines, production sawing machines, tube bending, wire bending, and end-forming solutions.
Working alongside experienced engineers, the Apprentice Field Service Engineer will develop the technical and customer-facing skills required to support advanced CNC machinery valued between £100k and £2.5 million. The role is designed to build deep product knowledge, strong problem-solving ability, and long-term career progression within the BLM engineering organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• With training, mentoring, and hands-on experience, you will progressively learn to:
• Assist with fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair across the full BLM machine portfolio
• Support new machine installations, commissioning, and acceptance testing
• Participate in customer operator and maintenance training
• Carry out planned maintenance visits under supervision
• Provide after-sales and application support to customers
• Build trusted relationships with customers through professional service delivery
• Liaise with senior engineers, technical support, and factory teams on technical matters
• Provide structured feedback to support product improvement and development
