Organizational Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Support design leadership in maintaining best-in-class performance and advancing Blue Heron’s growth and brand through integrated operations, team alignment, and proactive problem solving.
- Incorporate Blue Heron design standards for conceptual design integration and support best practices development and documentation
- Oversee that design direction aligns with Blue Heron design ethos
- Ensuring project team adherence to design tools, processes, and standards to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. This includes, but not limited to:
- Guaranteeing accuracy of collateral from Design to support the Sales & Marketing Teams
- Collaboration and coordination with Visualization for Luminary homes
- Creation and management of Discovery assets as required by Discovery and Sales teams, including, but not limited to, presentations, lot fits, and KMZ view studies.
- Positively and actively collaborate with leadership and cross-departmentally with teams to ensure adherence to internal processes and quality standards
- Provide insight on project and Blue Heron design ethos as needed by the Sales and Marketing teams
- Management of designer staff and workload distribution
- Training, coaching, and mentoring of designer staff
- Interview and hire, mentor and train, for qualified design team roles
- Create, monitor, maintain, update, and train processes and procedures for all design related tasks
- Encourage routine and consistent use of design software including SketchUp, Revit and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate within design teams to ensure processes and procedures are implemented with project teams
- Provide architectural design direction and oversight for Luminary homes
- ‘Moderator’ of the BH Design Committee, actively calibrating the committee members to the priorities of the day
- Perform as designer as needed or required on high profile projects
- Present SketchUp models and visualization assets to potential clients for Luminary homes
