JOB SUMMARY:
The Service Driver is responsible for safely transporting Field Service Technicians, supplies, and equipment to various customer sites in a timely manner. They must adhere to all local and state traffic laws as well as RMC safety policies to ensure RMC is compliant and considerate to all other drivers and pedestrians.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Transporting Personnel Safely
Ensuring that employees or other individuals are transported to and from work locations, meetings, or events in a safe and timely manner.
Adhering to Traffic Laws and Company Policies
Complying with all local and national traffic regulations, as well as company safety policies. This includes driving at safe speeds and following the rules of the road.
Selecting the best routes based on traffic, weather conditions, and the timeliness of the journey. It may also include preparing for detours or construction zones to ensure punctuality.
Assisting with Loading/Unloading
Assist with the loading and unloading of personal items, tools, and product deliveries.
Maintaining Professionalism and Confidentiality
Maintaining a courteous, professional demeanor at all times. Respecting the privacy and confidentiality of passengers, especially in corporate settings.
Record Keeping
Documenting details such as customer locations, mileage, or hours worked. This can also include completing travel logs or time sheets as required by the employer.
Emergency Preparedness
Knowing how to handle emergency situations, such as accidents, breakdowns, or medical issues, and following appropriate company protocols.
Communication
Keeping in touch with the company or supervisor for updates, changes in schedule, or special instructions.
Time Management
Ensuring timely arrivals and departures, considering factors such as traffic, weather, and the specific time frame for appointments or meetings.
Company Vehicles
Cleaning and Caring for the Vehicle: Keeping the vehicle clean, both inside and outside, and ensuring that it is comfortable for the passengers. Performing routine vehicle checks, such as checking tire pressure, oil levels, lights, brakes, and fuel levels. Reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
