DevOps Engineer - Bangalore, India

Position Summary:

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, operating, and improving the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of cloud infrastructure and delivery platforms. This role partners closely with engineering and platform teams to enable secure, automated, and observable systems that support modern application workloads.

A successful DevOps Engineer brings strong hands‑on technical capability across cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and operational excellence, while contributing to continuous improvement and mentoring junior engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering

• Build, operate, and maintain core services on AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Administer and support Linux‑based systems in production environments.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Configure and manage cloud networking components including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, DNS, and routing.

CI/CD & Deployment

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable application delivery.
• Support multiple deployment strategies including rolling and blue‑green deployments.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve build, test, and release automation.

Containers & Platform Operations

• Build and operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support Kubernetes cluster operations, application deployments, and platform reliability.
• Participate in platform design discussions to improve scalability and standardization.

Monitoring, Reliability & Incident Management

• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, dashboards, and alerting.
• Participate in incident response and operational troubleshooting.
• Contribute to post‑incident reviews and reliability improvements.
• Configure backups and support disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution.

Security, Compliance & Cost Awareness

• Apply baseline security controls across infrastructure and pipelines.
• Support compliance requirements through standardization and operational controls.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage with basic FinOps awareness and cost‑optimization practices.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Work with engineers and stakeholders to support reliable application delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge through documentation and reviews.
• Contribute to architectural and platform design discussions with practical input.

Qualifications:

• Business-level English proficiency
• 2–5 years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Strong hands‑on Linux systems administration experience.
• Practical experience with:
• AWS or other major cloud platforms
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
• CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Containers and Kubernetes
• Monitoring and observability tools
• Familiarity with networking concepts including VPCs, load balancers, and DNS.
• Experience supporting production systems and handling operational incidents.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Preferred:

• Experience designing scalable cloud architectures.
• Exposure to disaster recovery strategies and backup systems.
• Practical experience with cost optimization and cloud resource efficiency.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
