    Job Summary

    The Program Manager actively develops and sustains relationships that grow the presence of the Club in the community by leading and cultivating partnerships with community organizations and regional school systems to advance programs at the Club site. Ensures that all foundational programming requirements are met, including all required curriculum-based programs and tracks and reports all grant requirements. Evaluates and recommends enhancements to programs based on the needs, interests, and characteristics of the youth to ensure an outcome-driven Club experience. 

    Primary Responsibilities

    Operational Leadership & Program Quality

    • Assist the Club Director with driving the key performance  indicators of Average Daily Attendance (ADA), Registered Members (RM), Active Members (AM) and Frequent Attenders (FA) for the Club in alignment with BGCMD’s overall pursuit of Operational Excellence. 
    • Administer the annual Key Performance Data (KPD) assessment in collaboration with the Impact Department to ensure Club members consistently have great experiences at Club.
    • Champion the execution of quality programming throughout the Club which includes aligning programming offerings with grant requirements and BGCMD expectations. 
    • Collaborate with the Impact Department to identify Program Partners and experiential opportunities across the Denver Metro that will enrich the experiences of Club members.

    Youth Development & Member Engagement

    • Support the Club Director’s vision of establishing a youth-centered, safe, inclusive and engaging Club Culture that promotes positive Club member behaviors while also supporting a Club Culture that is welcoming of Club families and other external BGCMD stakeholders.  
    • Partner with the Healthy Lifestyles Team and the Mental Health Team to provide comprehensive programing and support for Club members. 
    • Implement constructive youth development and trauma-informed practices throughout the Club to foster positive emotional, social, and enrichment experience for Club members.
    • Build strong relationships with Club members, providing mentorship and guidance.
    • Ensure a diverse range of programmatic, athletics, enrichment, and leadership activities to meet the needs and interests of Club members.

    Team Leadership & Professional Development

    • Supervise and support a team of 2-6 Youth Development Specialist and/or Youth Engagement Specialists. 
    • Mentor, train and develop Youth Development Specialists and/or Youth Enrichment Specialist to implement engaging and enriching programming.
    • Ensure that resources such as lesson plans and program supplies are approved and available for Youth Development/Youth Enrichment Specialist utilization. 
    • Lead the onboarding efforts of the Club to ensure incoming teammates understand their job duties and have the necessary resources to execute their job functions. 
    • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, belonginess and productivity amongst Club staff. 
    • Participate in BGCMD January, May, and August training weeks and engage in any district/school-led professional development opportunities if applicable.

    Community & Family Engagement

    • Lead community outreach efforts with key external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships with schools, local organizations, and community organizations.
    • Execute signature events 

    Club Safety 

    • Assist with the Club staff to Club member ratio during Club hours
    • Support the facility maintenance of the Club (or partner with School/District Leadership) to ensure that the Club is safe, accessible and ready for programming. 
    • Transport Club members to field trips, athletics activities and other special events in accordance with BGCMD safety standards.

    Secondary Duties 

    • Lead as site manager in the absence of the Club Director.
    • Host routine Family Orientations to foster strong relationships between Club families and the Club.
    • Demonstrate flexibility by substituting at other Clubs or participating in organization-wide events across the Denver Metro area.

    Minimum Qualifications 

    •  Associate’s degree or coursework toward a bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, human services, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of direct experience serving youth, with  demonstrated responsibility for program planning, implementation, or coordination that indicates readiness to support program quality and staff development.
    • Understanding of youth development best practices
    • Demonstrated experience evaluating program quality and contributing to continuous improvement of programs to meet quality standards.  At least one year of experience providing training, coaching, and constructive feedback to develop team members and support their effective performance.
    • Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills
    • Valid driver’s license and qualification to be insured under the company’s policy (at least 21 years of age and valid driver’s license for at least three years with no major violations) Associate’s degree or coursework toward a bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, human services, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of direct experience serving youth, with demonstrated responsibility for program planning, implementation, or coordination that indicates readiness to support program quality and staff development.
    • Understanding of youth development best practices
    • Demonstrated experience evaluating program quality and contributing to continuous improvement of programs to meet quality standards.
    • At least one year of experience providing training, coaching, and constructive feedback to develop team members and support their effective performance.

    · Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working at a Boys & Girls Club
    • Spanish speaker
    • Experience supervising or coaching youth-facing staff.
    • Experience with behavior management or trauma-informed practices
    • Experience coordinating program logistics.

    Conditions of Employment

    • The position requires passing criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks. 
    • The position must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy. 
    • The position will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required.
    • Some job duties require the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. 
    • Strong English proficiency is required for this position to ensure effective communication with staff, club members, and families, as well as to follow safety and procedural guidelines accurately.
