Cybersecurity is a strategic capability at Bnode, enabling secure business operations, protecting critical assets and supporting our continued digital transformation across an international organisation.
As Group SOC Capability Lead, you will take strategic ownership of how Bnode detects, investigates and responds to cyber threats across the Group.
This is a senior, Director-level cybersecurity leadership role with responsibility for defining the vision, strategy, target operating model and multi-year roadmap for our Group Security Operations capability. You will shape how Group, Business Units, entities and external SOC/MDR partners work together, ensuring that our approach to Security Operations continues to evolve with the threat landscape and delivers measurable reduction in cyber risk.
Working across Group Security, Business Unit and technology leadership, you will set the strategic direction for the capability, guide major transformation and investment decisions, and build alignment around a coherent Group-wide approach to Security Operations.
Your mission
Shape the Group SOC strategy
- Define and own the vision, strategy, target state and multi-year roadmap for the Group SOC capability.
- Translate the Group Cyber Strategy, evolving threat landscape and business priorities into clear capability objectives.
- Define the target operating model across Group, Business Units, entities and external SOC/MDR providers.
- Set the strategic direction for the evolution of SOC services, technologies, data and operating models.
- Ensure the capability remains aligned with cyber risk, regulatory requirements, business priorities and the wider technology strategy.
Drive transformation and capability evolution
- Define and prioritise the transformation portfolio required to move the SOC towards its target state.
- Guide the evolution of threat detection, investigation, incident response and threat management capabilities.
- Drive simplification, standardisation and consolidation where these improve security outcomes across the Group.
- Anticipate emerging threats, technologies and market developments and determine what they mean for the future SOC capability.
- Ensure strategic initiatives translate into measurable improvements in security maturity and cyber resilience.
Own investment, value and strategic sourcing
- Own the SOC investment roadmap, prioritising investment based on cyber risk, business value and strategic objectives.
- Define the expected outcomes and risk reduction associated with major investments and transformation initiatives.
- Establish performance, risk, maturity and value indicators for the overall capability.
- Provide strategic direction for sourcing decisions and relationships with major technology and security service providers.
- Balance operational priorities with transformation needs and the long-term maturity of the capability.
Provide leadership and governance
- Provide strategic leadership to the SOC Capability Manager, architects and multidisciplinary teams responsible for building and operating the capability.
- Establish clear priorities, objectives and expected outcomes.
- Ensure operational and delivery decisions remain aligned with the agreed strategy, architecture and target operating model.
- Represent the SOC capability in Group governance and strategic decision-making forums.
- Provide senior-level direction and escalation support for significant investment, sourcing and cross-Group decisions.
Build Group-wide alignment
- Create strong alignment between Group Security, Business Unit security leadership, IT leadership and adjacent technology capabilities.
- Influence senior stakeholders on SOC strategy, investment priorities and cyber risk reduction.
- Drive adoption of the Group SOC strategy and operating model across the organisation.
- Ensure dependencies with capabilities including IAM, Zero Trust, Vulnerability Management, Cloud and IT Operations are understood and addressed.
- Build strategic relationships with key technology, service and security partners.
