What You'll Do
As a Part-Time Maker Space Service Technician, you'll provide technical assistance, equipment support, and exceptional customer service while helping maintain a safe, innovative, and welcoming maker space. You'll work closely with students, entrepreneurs, faculty, staff, and community members to support creative projects and business development.
In this role, you will:
- Assist students, entrepreneurs, businesses, and community members with projects, equipment, and technical questions.
- Provide one-on-one instruction and small-group training on makerspace equipment and software.
- Develop and update equipment training materials and instructional resources.
- Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and perform basic upkeep on makerspace equipment.
- Teach safe operating procedures and promote best practices for equipment use.
- Support prototyping, product development, fabrication, and creative projects.
- Give tours of the facility and educate visitors about available resources and services.
- Assist with workshops, demonstrations, community events, and outreach activities.
- Support marketing efforts through community engagement, social media, and promotional events.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve services, workflows, and the customer experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional makerspace environment.
- Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and facility operations.
- Support the Bridgerland Entrepreneurship Center's mission of helping innovators and businesses grow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

- A willingness to learn new equipment, software, and fabrication technologies.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with makerspace equipment such as 3D printers, CNC routers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, sublimation printers, sewing machines, or similar fabrication tools.
- Experience with audio/video equipment, podcast studios, photography, lighting, or multimedia production.
- Experience using design and manufacturing software such as Fusion 360, Blender, Adobe Creative Cloud, VCarve Pro, MeshMixer, CAD software, or related applications.
- Experience providing technical support, training, instruction, or customer service.
- Marketing, social media, or community outreach experience.
- A passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning.
