As a BrightBee Custodian, you’ll work within the Novato Unified School District . In these roles, you’ll help keep school buildings clean, safe, and running smoothly for students, teachers, and staff. No two days are the same—but every day matters. During your interview we will go into detail about what assignments are available at these sites. The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is.

These assignments will primarily support summer needs with strong potential for ongoing work:

Cleaner Shifts (Flexible / Part-Time & Full-Time Options):

• Monday – Friday
• 7am-4pm

Cleaners will be assigned specific areas and follow a checklist to complete daily tasks. This is great for folks who like structured, independent work.

Custodian Roles (Consistent / Higher Responsibility):

• Monday – Friday
• 7:00a – 4:00p (full-day, consistent schedule)

Custodians are responsible for the full building and grounds, including opening/closing, overseeing cleanliness, and maintaining the overall environment. These roles require strong reliability and are intended for consistent, long-term placement.

👉 This is great side-gig or full-time opportunity work and may turn into long-term or permanent opportunities based on performance!

• Support students with learning and classroom activities
• Help manage behavior using positive reinforcement
• Assist during lunch, recess, and school activities

✅ Basic Requirements

• Cleaning, custodial, or janitorial experience 
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

To keep students safe, you’ll need to:

• Pass a background check
• Complete required school clearances including a Mandated Reporter Training $8.99 which you are responsible for paying
• Follow safety and reporting guidelines
