Software Engineer

Brighterway is a VC-backed startup (Y Combinator S24) building AI-powered medical record review tools for the workers’ compensation ecosystem. We process **10M+ pages of medical records per month** and are growing rapidly across national claims organizations. We're hiring a full-stack generalist who loves building fast. Someone who can take ambiguous customer problems, propose a solution, and ship a working prototype in days.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys founder-style autonomy, talking to customers, and owning features end-to-end. You’ll work directly with the CEO and CTO to define, build, and iterate on high-impact product lines. ### **What You’ll Do** * Join live calls with founders, clients, and partners to understand needs in real time. * Build 0→1 prototypes, workflows, integrations, and internal tools extremely quickly. * Own full-stack development across backend, APIs, data pipelines, and lightweight UIs. * Debug production issues, unblock product teams, and ensure delivery to key clients. * Collaborate across ML, FE, and operations to ship experiments and new product lines. * Create scaffolding that the rest of the engineering team can harden later. ### **What We’re Looking For** * Strong full-stack experience (Python, Node, etc.) * Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end features independently * Bias toward action: prototype first, perfect later * Strong debugging + problem-solving skills * Comfort talking to customers, founders, and non-technical stakeholders * Startup DNA: scrappy, adaptable, and solutions-focused ### **Nice to Have** * Experience in health tech, ML tooling, document processing, or claims systems * Experience with AWS, GCP, or cloud infra * Prior early-stage startup experience or founding experience ### **Why Brighterway** * Work directly with founders on high-impact product lines * Ship fast and see your work used by national claims organizations * Competitive salary + meaningful equity * Fast-moving, execution-oriented environment
