What You’ll Do:
The Cook prepares and serves high-quality, nutritious meals in a safe and efficient manner while following menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines. This role helps create a positive dining experience for residents by maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and compliance with all food safety standards. The Cook works collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure a well-organized kitchen and excellent service each day.
- Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals in accordance with established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
- Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences while ensuring excellent food quality and presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment that meets all food safety standards.
- Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and portion control procedures.
- Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and minimizing food waste.
- Work collaboratively with Dining Services team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Help create a positive dining experience for residents, guests, and staff.
- Support special events, holiday meals, and other culinary initiatives as needed.
- Maintain required certifications and comply with all federal, state, local, and organizational regulations.
- Participate in training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Dining Services department.

Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Preferred:
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or food service setting.
- Culinary education or formal culinary training.
- ServSafe Certification.
- Allergen Certification.
- Experience preparing meals for special diets, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
