Bristlecone India Limited is seeking a seasoned Senior Specialist in SAP ABAP to join our S4 HANA Technical – Delivery team. The role involves end‑to‑end ABAP development, performance tuning, and seamless integration of SAP modules with external systems. You will collaborate closely with functional consultants and delivery leads to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while mentoring junior developers and ensuring best‑practice standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ABAP objects (reports, interfaces, BAPIs, enhancements) in the S/4HANA environment.
- Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Perform debugging, root‑cause analysis, and issue resolution for complex ABAP programs.
- Optimize performance of ABAP applications and database accesses using profiling tools.
- Integrate SAP modules with external systems via IDocs, RFC, OData, SOAP, and PI/PO.
- Implement enhancements such as user exits, BADIs, and enhancement spots per business needs.
- Collaborate with functional consultants and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior ABAP developers.
- Manage version control, transport requests, and change‑management activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and solution guides.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience, preferably in S/4HANA.
- Strong expertise in ABAP OO, ALV, BAPI, BADI, and the enhancement framework.
- Experience with SAP integration technologies (IDoc, RFC, OData, SOAP, PI/PO).
- Proven track record in performance tuning and SQL trace analysis.
- Proficiency in debugging complex ABAP code and troubleshooting runtime issues.
- Knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, SAP Gateway, and basic SAP Fiori concepts.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and DevOps practices within SAP projects.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; SAP certification is a plus.
