Analyst, Insurance (12 month contract)

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Risk & Insurance, the Analyst, Insurance will be a member of the Operational Risk team, whose mission is to safeguard the organization by identifying, analyzing, and managing operational risks while supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring robust governance across all business activities.

The Analyst will provide support for the administration of Brookfield Renewable's and Urban Grid’s insurance programs, including contract reviews, certificates and other proofs of insurance, policy administration, data analysis, and stakeholder support. This role offers exposure to a wide range of insurance and risk management activities across a large renewable energy portfolio.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review contracts and other agreements to identify and analyze insurance requirements and related risk transfer provisions.
• Review insurance clauses and accurately capture key terms and obligations within tracking tools and databases.
• Coordinate the issuance, review, and maintenance of certificates and other proofs of insurance for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support policy renewals by collecting, validating, and analyzing insurance exposure data from operating teams and business units.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding insurance requirements, coverage documentation, and related processes.
• Maintain insurance records, policy documentation, and tracking systems to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct research and analysis on insurance obligations, coverage requirements, claims trends, and industry best practices.
• Assist with process improvements and the optimization of tools used for insurance administration, reporting, and data management.
• Collaborate with internal teams, brokers, insurers, and other service providers to support the organization's insurance programs.
• Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations related to insurance activities, risk management initiatives, and key metrics.

There will also be the opportunity to participate in other activities managed by the broader risk team such as enterprise risk management, operational risk and energy markets compliance.

What You Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Legal Studies, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in insurance, risk management, procurement, contract administration, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
