Security Officer - Residential Housing

The YMCA of Broome County is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer for our residential housing program in Binghamton, NY. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, staff and visitors through regular security patrols, monitoring of the building, incident response, conflict de-escalation and accurate reporting. Available Shifts

We are currently hiring for the following part-time schedules:

• Monday–Tuesday: 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
• Saturday–Sunday: 8:15 AM–4:45 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 10:00 PM–6:30 AM

What you'll do

As a Security Officer with the YMCA of Broome County, you will help maintain the safety, security and well-being of residents, visitors, staff and the facility. Responsibilities include:

• Conduct regular security patrols throughout assigned areas of the building and property.
• Maintain a visible security presence and help ensure compliance with YMCA rules and building standards.
• Monitor the safety and security of residents, visitors, employees and YMCA property.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, safety concerns and unusual activity.
• Use conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques when working with residents.
• Prepare clear and detailed incident reports.
• Maintain accurate daily security and program documentation.
• Protect confidential and sensitive information.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful and substance-free residential environment.
• Support residents professionally while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
