Job Title: Senior Sourcing Specialist

Location: Kuala Lumpur

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead complex sourcing programmes and strategic procurement initiatives across BSI.

Working closely with Category Leads and senior business stakeholders, you will shape sourcing approaches, challenge requirements and lead high-value negotiations that deliver commercial value, manage risk and support category objectives.

Alongside your own sourcing portfolio, you will act as a subject matter expert for sourcing processes and tools, coach other sourcing colleagues and step in for Category Leads where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-value and strategic sourcing programmes from initial requirement through to supplier selection and contract award.
• Determine appropriate sourcing approaches, routes to market and evaluation methodologies for complex requirements.
• Develop sourcing strategies that directly support category objectives and wider business priorities.
• Manage multi-stakeholder sourcing events and influence senior stakeholders and executive sponsors on commercial decisions.
• Challenge requirements and specifications to improve value, competition and commercial outcomes.
• Develop negotiation strategies and lead complex supplier negotiations and dispute resolution.
• Use benchmarking, total cost analysis and supplier optimisation to identify savings, cost avoidance and wider value opportunities.
• Support Category Leads with category strategy development and market intelligence.
• Coach and support sourcing colleagues, sharing best practice and helping strengthen sourcing capability across the team.
• Act as a subject matter expert for sourcing processes and tools and contribute to continuous improvement activity.
• Embed sustainable procurement principles and ESG criteria into sourcing decisions and supplier evaluation.

What we're looking for

• Significant procurement and sourcing experience with a strong track record of leading complex sourcing projects independently.
• Experience managing high-value or strategically important sourcing programmes involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills and experience developing sourcing and negotiation strategies.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the confidence to challenge requirements and commercial assumptions.
• Experience using commercial analysis, benchmarking and total cost approaches to support sourcing decisions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach.
• Business-level English.

Highly desirable

• Experience coaching or developing procurement colleagues.
• Experience applying sustainable procurement or ESG criteria within supplier selection and sourcing activity.
