We are seeking a Software Integration and Test (SWIT) Engineer who wants to solve interesting, complex problems to protect our nation. As a SWIT engineer on this team, you will work in a team environment to design, develop, and implement test plans and procedures for software (SW) requirement verification & validation. You will be responsible for SW integration, requirement analysis, test planning and execution, performance analysis, troubleshooting and coordination for remediating software defects

In this role you will write test procedure scripts in Perl, Python, Linux, and with automated software test tools. In support of the test execution leads, you will conduct test walk throughs, and communicate plans, status and out-briefs with the IPT leads, team members, and the customer.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver Features with Increasing Independence

• Implement full‑stack features with clear requirements, breaking work into steps and identifying integration points.

• Drive features through review, testing, and deployment while raising integration issues and edge cases early.

• Write Quality, Production‑Ready Code

• Develop clean, maintainable, testable code aligned with team standards.

• Create thorough unit and integration tests, debug issues, and contribute meaningfully in code reviews.

• Support Junior Team Members

• Assist junior engineers through questions, pairing, and sharing best practices for troubleshooting and integration.

• Provide constructive code reviews and help onboard new team members with guidance on workflows and tools.

• Contribute to Modern Development Practices

• Work with REST APIs, microservices, and cloud deployments while applying integration principles.

• Use CI/CD pipelines and automated test frameworks, helping troubleshoot deployment and integration issues.

• Collaborate Across the Team

• Clarify requirements with product/design partners and ensure they are testable.

• Communicate progress and challenges, contribute to technical discussions, and document work for team clarity.

• Continue Growing Your Skills

• Learn new technologies relevant to automation, integration, and system reliability.

• Identify opportunities to improve code quality and propose enhancements to processes or tooling.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field + 3 years of professional software development experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Professional Development Experience: 3+ years developing, integrating, testing, and deploying software in a professional environment
• Programming Proficiency: Solid skills in at least one modern language (Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#), including the ability to write clean, testable, and automatable code
• Software Testing: Experience in Test Automation scripting and languages (Python, Bash, Perl) and exposure to automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTest, JUnit, Selenium, Postman/Newman, Cucumber)
• Modern Development Practices: Experience with version control (Git), code reviews, and working in Agile/Scrum teams
• API & Web Development: Experience building or working with RESTful APIs and web applications, with an understanding of integration and end-to-end testing
• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work effectively on a team, communicate technical concepts clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional partners including integration and test leads
• Location: Ability to work in our office at least 3 days per week (up to 5 days a week once you obtain a security clearance)
• Security Clearance: Willing to be submitted for and able to obtain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance

Desired:

• Experience with Spring Boot, React, or similar modern frameworks in production
• Hands-on experience deploying applications to AWS, Azure, or GCP, including validating deployments and automated environment testing
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and associated integration workflows
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases, including data validation and integration testing
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), with exposure to automated test pipelines
• Experience working with microservices architectures and verifying interactions through automated integration tests
• Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries involving formal verification and validation
• Active U.S. Government Security Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$69,100-$141,500
