Job Summary: The Lead Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing engineering disposition and technical support for the KSA/Dammam supply chain (manufacturing) and services operation - aligned with Global Technical Support Engineering and wider Engineering & Technology functions.
This role is also responsible for supporting technical discussion, System Integration Test (SIT) including interaction with external customer.
Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
Job Requirements
- Create engineering outputs (documents, drawing, technical reports) to ensure compliance with design intent, standards, and customer requirements while ensuring it is done in high-quality and timeliness related to manufacturing and services support, including repair, refurbishment and modification of customer’s owned equipment.
- Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), propose technically sound dispositions, and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) related to design, manufacturing, or field issues and support CAPA implementation.
- Lead System Integration Tests (SIT) including preparation and review of procedure and report review.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support during testing, assembly, inspection, customer witness activities, and in the case of field issue (including capability to support outside of normal working hours in case of emergency).
- Support internal, customer, or third-party audits by providing engineering clarifications and documentation.
- Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and project progress meetings, leveraging manufacturing, testing, and field experience in KSA/Dammam.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives related to engineering quality, processes, and execution efficiency.
- Support timely and accurate responses to technical queries, deviations, and clarifications raised internally or by customers.
- Prepare and present technical explanations, justifications, and solution proposals with customer when required.
Progress Monitoring & Control
- Track and report progress against baseline schedules, milestones, and key deliverables.
- Identify delays, risks, and variances; recommend recovery or mitigation actions.
Stakeholder Communication
- Provide accurate and timely updates to team leader/ manager.
- Communicate to operational and field-services teams on impact analysis of design and documentation releases for new, revision and remanufacture parts, systems.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, vendors, and testing disciplines.
Education, Training, Experience:
- Have Bachelor degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Have a minimum 6 years of experience in Engineering for Surface Pressure Control (Surface Wellhead and Tree) equipment including Field Technical Support role (Life-of-Field Support).
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Familiar with design verification and validation processes in an equipment manufacturing business.
- Good problem-solving abilities including specific to Surface Wellhead product and installation
- Strong time management skills.
- Effective communicator.
- Ability to work under dynamic, cross-cultural, global environments.
