ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: The Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is currently searching for one (1) student research assistant for web development work on an ongoing research project within the Department of Architecture, titled “The Architecture of Polarization: How Our Buildings and Builders Shape our Politics,” led by Dr. Aaron Cayer. The successful candidate should have strong web development and design experience, as well as organizational, research, and communication skills.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

· Design, build, and launch a website with faculty researchers that visualizes data about the political contributions of architecture, engineering, and construction firms

· Coordinate with other student research assistants to ensure the timely completion of tasks per grant timelines

· Produce graphically clear reports and visuals that communicate research findings

· Adhere to a regular work schedule which may include evenings and weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Undergraduate or graduate students of any major (design majors a plus but not required)

· Experience designing and building websites that communicate data in graphically compelling ways

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.

· Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel) and other relevant software applications.

· Proficiency in Adobe graphics suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) and other relevant software applications.

OFFERED:

· $21.00 per hour

· 5-10 hours per week

· Term: up to 9 months
