    Job description

    LOCATION: NORMAL, IL

    SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $70,000

    The QA Traveling Quality Liaison serves as the primary quality representative between CAMACO manufacturing facilities and customer assembly plants. This position is responsible for protecting customer operations through rapid response, containment implementation, issue investigation, and effective communication of quality concerns. The liaison provides on-site support at customer locations to ensure nonconforming material is identified, contained, and dispositioned promptly while minimizing production disruptions. The ideal candidate possesses strong automotive quality knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead containment and corrective action activities in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Customer Support & Liaison Activities

    • Serve as the primary quality liaison between CAMACO facilities, customers, and third-party containment providers.

    • Respond locally to customer quality concerns and coordinate immediate containment actions.

    • Represent CAMACO professionally during customer meetings, audits, and issue reviews.

    • Provide timely and accurate communication regarding quality incidents, containment status, and corrective actions.

    Containment & Sorting Management

    • Initiate and manage containment activities for suspect or nonconforming material.

    • Conduct product inspections and sorting activities when required.

    • Coordinate and supervise third-party sorting companies.

    • Verify effectiveness of containment actions and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

    • Maintain containment records, inspection reports, and traceability documentation.

    Problem Solving & Corrective Actions

    • Investigate quality issues at customer locations and manufacturing facilities.

    • Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

    • Participate in cross-functional teams to identify systemic and process-related issues.

    • Verify corrective actions are effectively implemented and sustained.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available.

    • Maintain inspection results, containment reports, customer communications, and quality metrics.

    • Provide regular status updates to plant leadership and customer representatives.

    • Escalate quality risks that could impact customer production or satisfaction.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Identify recurring quality concerns and opportunities for improvement.

    • Support implementation of lessons learned and read-across activities across facilities.

    • Assist plants in achieving customer satisfaction, defect reduction, and compliance objectives.

    Travel and Physical Requirements

    • Minimal domestic travel required.

    • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when supporting customer operations. (mirroring customer work hours)

    • Ability to stand, walk, inspect parts, and perform audits within manufacturing environments.

    • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain rental vehicles and travel accommodations as required.
