    Job Title: Finance Assistant   

    Work Location: CMHA Kenora Main Office  

    Employment Status: Full-Time, Permanent

    Salary Range: $60,935.00 to $75,643.00

    Overview:

    The Finance Assistant is part of the Branch Administrative team and reports directly to the Finance and Administration Manager.

    Qualifications:

    • Accounting certificate or Diploma
    • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or related experience required
    • Experience in Accounts Payable
    • Experience in processing payroll in small or mid-size organizations is required.
    • Experience using account software, preferably Sage 50.
    • Ability to work in fast paced, team-oriented work environment
    • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills required
    • Experience with report preparation and strong data entry skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Professionalism in performance of duties
    • Valid Driver’s License

    Duties:

    Accounting Duties:

    • Record day-to-day transactions, cash receipts and disbursements, maintaining accounts receivable and payable sub-ledgers while ensuring that all data is recorded accurately
    • Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements. Complete bank deposits and general ledger reconciliations
    • Record monthly rent transactions, collect payments, prepare for deposit and reconcile rent accounts periodically.
    • Process bi-weekly payroll for all Canadian Mental Health Association, Kenora Brach departments including any correspondence related to payroll.
    • Prepare government remittance relating to payroll per Canada Revenue Agency’s remittance requirement.
    • Complete tasks related to Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) including but not limited to enrollment, termination, information update, annual reconciliation and data collections, and any other task.
    • Track expenses and any other data for decision making purposes as requested by Finance and Administration Manager and Chief Executive Officer.
    • Maintain filing and record
    • Assist Finance and Administration Manager in the timely and accurate completion of
    • Other accounting duties as assigned.

    General Duties:

    • Provide coverage of general administrative and clerical support to management
    • Attend, participate in team/staff meetings as required
    • Adherence to all policies of CMHA Kenora Branch including assurance of confidentiality of all clients, personnel and organizational records and information.
    • Maintain Agency’s stability and reputation by ensuring high standards of professional conduct and quality of care, adhering to legislative requirements, policies and procedures, funding body criteria, and professional and Branch standards.
    • Be vigilant of any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of the Joint, Health and Safety Representative
    • Participate in relevant training and development courses as required
    • Responsible for self-care
    • Other duties as directed
