Position: The Head Start Receptionist is the first point of contact for families, visitors, staff, and the public. The role focuses on welcoming and screening visitors, answering phones, directing people to the appropriate staff or locations, and handling incoming and outgoing mail.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years working in a community-based organization or non-profit organization.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Human Services programs and resources.
• Knowledge of issues relating to poverty
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a broad spectrum of abilities and variety of personalities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt in reaction to unplanned or unexpected circumstances or events.
• Exceptional customer service skills, ability to always maintain a polite and professional attitude and manner when interacting with others, especially in challenging situations.
• Knowledge of de-escalation procedures is highly desirable.
• Exceptional attendance and reliability are a must for this position.
