Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain production areas, offices, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and other facility areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash and debris from assigned areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, toilets, fixtures, and other common areas.
- Empty trash containers and properly dispose of waste according to company procedures.
- Clean spills and address housekeeping hazards promptly to help prevent slips, trips, and falls.
- Restock restroom, break room, and janitorial supplies as needed.
- Maintain an organized and adequately stocked janitorial supply area.
- Perform basic facility upkeep and minor maintenance tasks as assigned, such as changing light bulbs, replacing dispensers, or reporting facility issues.
- Assist with maintaining exterior areas, including entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and other assigned areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and properly.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Properly use, label, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, leaks, maintenance concerns, or other facility issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with special cleaning projects, facility inspections, and other housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when working around employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial, housekeeping, facilities, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to safely operate basic cleaning equipment and tools.
- Ability to identify and report unsafe conditions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Must be able to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as necessary to perform job duties.
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, trash bags, and equipment as required.
- Ability to push and pull cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a manufacturing facility and may be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, noise, dust, varying temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and other typical manufacturing conditions. The employee is expected to follow all safety rules and use appropriate PPE at all times.
