ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
- Possess digital literacy, including the comfortable use of laptops, desktop computers, and tablets for daily tasks, data entry, and communication. (e.g., email, specified software for data logs)
- Diagnose root cause of problems and corrects basic to moderately complex issues with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical components in plant machinery and equipment.
- Perform routine, predictive, and preventive maintenance on all machinery.
- Fabricate metal parts (e.g., brackets, stands, guards); perform welding and cutting with torch or plasma cutter as required.
- JOB SUMMARY:
- Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery. Performs repairs and maintains hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and overhead crane systems. Maintains specified production and auxiliary equipment. Operates and assists in maintaining motorized equipment. Performs basic to moderately complex grounds/facilities repairs, as required. May be required to fabricate metal structures, as required using welder and cutting torch. Ensures accuracy and safety in all operations.
- Operate scissor lifts and articulating boom manlifts with ability to work at heights of up to 40 feet.
- Operate forklifts to transport heavy parts and equipment.
- Perform basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations.
- Perform grounds/facilities repairs and needed. (e.g., compressors, fans, overhead doors, and plumbing)
- Must have a valid state driver’s license. Must maintain a clean and insurable driving record throughout employment, as defined by company vehicle insurance standards.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Help promote good housekeeping with assigned area through participation in 6S initiatives.
- Maintain supplies in maintenance department, requisition supplies and parts as needed.
- Mentor and train team members on equipment workflows, troubleshooting, and plant procedures to maintain high production quality.
- Respond to on-call emergencies as needed.
- Attend plant and department meetings as required.
- Actively participate in all plant safety programs.
- Actively participate in all plant and departmental continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain work logs as required.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High school graduate/GED. Vocational or Technical College certificate / degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of industrial maintenance experience preferred; at least one year of associated experience in manufacturing with exposure to mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of basic mechanical and/or electrical/electronic implementation required. Knowledge of metal fabrication, basic carpentry and plumbing a plus.
- Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Position requires walking, standing, heavy lifting, bending, and twisting. Must have correctable hearing and eyesight. Must be able to pass color blindness test and be able to keep colors separate. Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with on-the-job training. Must be able to lift 86 pounds maximum and lift with assistance 87 to 100 pounds. Ability to work well with others. Ability to work with limited supervision to perform job. Must be skilled in working with hand and electrical tools.
- Working Conditions: Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to equipment noise, dust, and temperature extremes (hot and cold). Work involves exposure to high voltage equipment and rapidly moving machinery.
