2026-09-28 11:59 PMCBC North is seeking a community reporter to join our N.W.T. news team, and we’re asking you to tell us what community you’d like to live and work in. We’re looking for a self-starter who can help us expand our coverage, either in a regional centre like Inuvik, Hay River, Fort Smith, Fort Simpson, Behchokǫ̀ or one of our smaller communities.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated connection to the proposed community, and be a strong writer with a background in journalism or a related field. This position also requires a team player who understands time management, pays attention to detail and has a strong desire to cover local and regional news.
You will be part of a small but dynamic team currently working out of our Yellowknife and Inuvik bureaus. You will work to deadline daily, gathering, writing, editing and packaging content for video, digital and audio platforms.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You may be asked to work a variety of shifts, including early starts and late finishes and weekends.
