    Certified Medical Assistant (part-time)

    The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting providers in the delivery of compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care by performing clinical and administrative duties that promote health, wellbeing, and positive patient experiences. This role serves as an important member of the care team, fostering meaningful patient relationships, coordinating care, and contributing to a joyful, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and coworkers.

    Key Responsibilities:  

    Essential Functions

    • Deliver exceptional patient experiences by preparing patients for visits, obtaining and documenting clinical information, and ensuring each patient is treated with compassion, dignity, and respect.
    • Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and care team members to provide efficient, high-quality clinical care, assist with examinations and procedures, and maintain effective patient flow.
    • Perform clinical duties within certification and training requirements, including administering medications and immunizations, collecting specimens, conducting diagnostic testing, and reinforcing patient education and treatment plans.
    • Coordinate patient care activities, including referrals, diagnostic testing, follow-up appointments, and communication that supports continuity of care and improved health outcomes.
    • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and documentation in compliance with infection prevention, safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements while supporting a positive and professional care environment.
    • Contribute to CPC's culture of joy, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement through active participation in training, quality initiatives, and organizational goals.

    Qualifications for Success:

    Education, License/Certification, and Experience Requirements. 

    Education: High School graduate or GED required. 

    Licensure/Certification: Registered MA, Certified MA, or current LPN required.  Basic Life Support or be able to obtain within 6 months.

    Experience:   Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Office experience. 

    • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
    • Ability to type
    • Ability to identify emergent medical situations
    • Demonstrate positive customer service skills
    • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment, multi-tasking

    Essential Skills:

    • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and creating positive experiences for patients, families, and coworkers.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, infection prevention practices, and standards applicable to a primary care environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, demonstrate empathy, and work effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals.
    • Ability to accurately document information and effectively utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
    • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, maintain attention to detail, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
    • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, teamwork, and commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and CPC's mission, values, and culture.

    Additional Job Details:

    Work Setting: On-site.  Well-lit medical office environment.

    Travel:  Must be able to travel to CPC office locations within the CSRA area.

    Job Type: Part-Time

    Schedule: Monday thru Friday, less than 30 hours per week, with ability to work hours based on clinic needs 

    Mental/Physical Requirements:  Stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; constant/repetitive standing; requires normal, correctable vision and hearing.  

    Compensation: Market competitive base pay, commensurate with education and experience.
