The Compressor Design and Implementation - Team Lead is a key role responsible for the efficient, disciplined and high‑quality delivery of engineered‑to‑order (ETO) and designed-to-order (DTO) compressor solutions for CHVAC.  This role oversees all aspects of compressor design customization and implementation for both La Crosse and Monterrey manufacturing facilities, ensuring factory needs, design intent and customer performance requirements are met. The position requires strong collaboration with ACC Compressor Design teams, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Quality. The role ensures ETO Compressor designs are executed quickly, accurately and with minimal downstream issues for equipment teams, enabling CHVAC to support customer‑specific requirements and specialized applications.  This role serves as a development pathway into broader CHVAC engineering management positions!

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

    • Manage all compressor ETO and DTO design activities for La Crosse and Monterrey factories.

    • Own factory input to compressor development MRDs related to ETO capability and constraints.

    • Own the ETO compressor development business case from concept through implementation.

    • Ensure complete, timely execution of BOS (Business Operating System) tasks related to compressor ETO projects.

    • Work directly with ACC design leaders to align ETO requirements, testing needs, and deliverables.

    Cross‑Functional Integration:

    • Collaborate extensively with manufacturing, sourcing, product engineering, quality engineering, and application engineering.

    • Ensure seamless translation of design requirements to factory implementation.

    • Support issue resolution during design, qualification, build, and initial production stages.

    • Communicate risks, decisions, and status clearly across functions.

    Technical & Operational Excellence:

    • Drive speed, rigor, and discipline in ETO project execution.

    • Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality standards.

    • Identify opportunities to improve cost, lead time, and lifecycle quality.

    • Maintain technical oversight across mechanical and motor compressor ETO domains.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 5-years of work experience in product development or rotating-assembly technology is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects or teams.

    • Proven ability to manage complex cross‑functional projects.

    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    • Ability to drive decisions, remove obstacles and lead with urgency.

    • Direct experience with ETO, DTO or customized product design.

    • Familiarity with Trane BOS and NPD/ETO processes.
