    What You Will Do:

    • This position will primarily be responsible for providing safety and limited environmental support to the Odessa Manufacturing Plant. The position will require occasional weekend/evening call-out in the event of an emergency
    • Drive Goal Zero culture and initiatives
    • Conduct safety assessments in the plant to identify and detect existing or potential risk, incident, and health hazards; determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated; and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented and completed. These include project JSAs, safe work permits, risk assessments, and PPE assessments, etc.
    • Educate and train the workforce on health, safety, and environmental policies and standards as required by company policy, customer requirements, and regulatory bodies
    • Lead or participate in the investigation of near misses, environmental spills, and incidents that did or could have resulted in an injury or a release of material to the environment. Work with the team to develop Root Cause Analysis (i.e., TapRoot, 5-Why)
    • Perform quarterly IH sampling. Based on results, recommend changes to working conditions to ensure all employees have a safe and healthy working environment
    • Participate in and/or coordinate PSM and RMP program activities, including MOC/PSSR meetings, creating and updating operating procedures, and PSM/DHA assessments (What If, HAZOP, etc.) for covered processes
    • Participate in the Management of Change process and implementation
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA/TCEQ, DHS, and DOT regulations. Advanced knowledge of two or more of these regulations is required
    • Compile and analyze HSE statistics and incident reports. Issue monthly reports to SHE Manager
    • Prepare different types of HSE reports as needed in Power BI/Microsoft Office
    • Gather data and/or prepare reports/RCA on safety incidents and Process Safety Events
    • Actively participate in TPM and 5S assessments/audits
    • Participate in plant safety/ISO audits and ensure compliance
    • Execute Continuous Improvement and savings initiatives
    • Partner with employees, management, and Front Line Leadership
    • Implement and maintain company HSE documents adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations
    • Exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills
    • Perform other duties as required
    • Maintain confidentiality of all matters

    Position Details:

    • Work Environment: On-site, supporting safety, health, and environmental activities at the Odessa Manufacturing Plant
    • Day shift
    • Position requires frequent visits throughout the plant
    • Occasional evening and weekend call-outs may be required in the event of an emergency or abnormal plant situation
    • Role requires working in both office and plant environments

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or other relevant degree with 3 years HSE experience with heavy environmental knowledge or equivalent experience
    • Professional certification in HSE (ASP, CSP, OHST)
    • Two to four years of relevant experience in manufacturing or field service in the oil and gas industry
    • Read, write, and speak English fluently
    • Ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information
    • Ability to work within the U.S. without sponsorship of a visa

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
    • Must have the ability to climb stairs and ladders
    • Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
    • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear
    • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
    • Employee is required to work in a plant environment, which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions
    • Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist, and push
    • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, safety goggles/glasses, or respirators

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ability to lead safety meetings as needed
    • Ability to conduct SHE training for employees and contractors
    • Ability to mentor employees on SHE initiatives and policies
    • Ability to serve as backup for other plant safety personnel
    • Ability to promote continual improvement within the SHE program
    • Ability to present to customers
    • Advanced knowledge of two or more of the following regulations: OSHA, NFPA, EPA/TCEQ, DHS, and DOT
    • Experience with Root Cause Analysis methods, including TapRoot and 5-Why
    • Experience with PSM, RMP, MOC, PSSR, DHA, What If, and HAZOP processes
    • Experience preparing HSE reports using Power BI and Microsoft Office
    • Experience with TPM, 5S assessments/audits, plant safety audits, and ISO audits
