    Job description

Chapman Tripp’s Wellington Finance Practice is looking for a Senior Solicitor or Senior Associate to join its high-performing team for a project finance role.    We are keen to speak with candidates who have infrastructure experience, including procurement, contracting or financing.

    Our clients and our work

We are a three-partner finance team, with Leigh Kissick and Mark Reese leading the project finance work.  Working alongside Leigh and Mark you will have the opportunity to act for a wide range of high-profile clients – including banks and funds, developers, local authorities and key public sector entities. The work in our project finance practice covers both transactional and advisory issues.  For example, our team has advised:

    • on the development and project financing of large-scale renewable energy projects
    • on the Infrastructure Funding and Financing Act
    • Government on public private partnerships
    • certain Government agencies on new approaches and related structuring advice for the funding and financing of infrastructure
    • clients in the energy sector on significant projects

    Our Wellington office

Chapman Tripp is the largest law firm in Wellington and prides itself on a collaborative environment.  As the successful candidate, you will work directly with Leigh and Mark and other leading infrastructure and finance lawyers in New Zealand.   You will also have the opportunity to learn from the wider Chapman Tripp team on Energy, Construction, M&A and Resource Management.

If you are a talented solicitor with 4+ years PQE, we believe we have the best team, work, culture and opportunity to develop your career and are keen to hear from you.

    Working for Chapman Tripp

In addition to top-tier clients and work:

    • Flexible working style and supportive leadership
    • Ongoing learning and development and formal mentoring programme
    • Competitive salary & benefits package incl. health insurance and wellbeing allowance
    • Groups and activities to suit your interests: sports, arts & culture, regular team and firm events for connection
    • Relocation / requalification assistance

We are a collaborative workplace of smart, passionate and hardworking people, united by a commitment to excellence. Work for Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest legal partnership and enjoy a firm which has the resources and structures in place for you to do your best work; as well as people who are caring, inclusive and authentic.
