SHIFT/SCHEDULE
This position is weekends
OUR ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- The activities coordinator works closely with the Lifestyle and Leisure Manager to provide outstanding programming and service to the Ring House senior living community
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating, activity programs for residents of Ring House and Landow House that would benefit from more specialized one to one interactions and small group programming.
- Assess residents’ activity needs and functional levels as a basis for program planning. Interview residents/family members to obtain leisure assessment information. Share information with other staff as needed.
- Conduct small group leisure programs at Ring House and Landow House. Advertise, gather, escort and lead programs for those residents who will benefit from smaller groups. (i.e. Exercise, Trivia, Word Games, Wii, Table Top Games, Reminiscing, Walking Clubs, etc.)
- Provide 1:1 Leisure Education for those residents who may benefit from such sessions. (i.e. review activity calendars, discuss leisure interests and abilities, determine need for assistance to participate, etc, etc.)
- Oversee and orchestrate programs/events by providing support to performers, serving as MC, monitor crowd control, etc.
- Reports directly to the Lifestyle and Leisure Manager.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in activities or healthcare preferred
