Position: Civil Engineer
POSITION PURPOSE: The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of all infrastructure while improving its aesthetic. The incumbent shall also ensure that all related works are completed up to standard and in keeping with all requirements. The incumbent shall also provide technical assistance and ensure the integrity of construction, alterations, and installation programs.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain the apron (pavement), runways (pavement), and all structural components of CJIAC buildings.
- Participated in developing the scope of work and preparing engineers' estimates for projects under the purview of the Engineering & Technical Department.
- Resolving design and development issues.
- Ensuring that projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
- Provide management with technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs.
- Making sure construction sites meet all safety requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Tender documents.
- Inspects completed jobs to ensure optimal results were obtained.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A master’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, with supplementary courses in other related engineering disciplines and appropriate technical qualifications with at least three (3) years of proven work experience in a similar role in a company of comparative size, having functioned in a senior decision-making role.

- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with supplementary courses in other related engineering disciplines and appropriate technical qualifications, and six (6) years of proven work experience in a similar role in a company of comparative size, having functioned in a senior decision-making role.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in AutoCAD.
- Must have experience in project and contract management.
- Knowledge of financial management principles, particularly budgeting.
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills; must be computer literate.
- Sound independent judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a supervisory/managerial post.
- Must be able to work flexible hours
