Overview
Chenega is seeking to hire an experienced Scientific Data Analyst II to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Prevention Response Branch(PRB). This person will provide support for Support for Long Term Care and Dialysis Infection Prevention.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with other project subject matter experts (SMEs) and team to coordinate the infection prevention efforts of the Making Dialysis Safer for Patients Coalition partnerships and other infection prevention projects.
- Develop strategies to implement CDC-recommended infection prevention measures and support infection prevention activities.
- Develop and deliver/disseminate educational trainings and other educational content to help promote CDC recommended practices.
- Engage in outreach with public health partners to provide technical support; understand provider prevention activities, interest, and needs; identify opportunities for CDC to assist provider infection prevention efforts; and proactively investigate ways to expand implementation of infection prevention materials.
- Develop and distribute CDC communications and materials for meetings with key partners.
- Provide virtual support to healthcare settings or other venues by providing assessment and training for infection prevention activities related to the dialysis setting.
- Provide technical expertise, training, and consultation for dialysis and public health partners and members of Dialysis partnerships
- Provide subject matter expertise for the development of assessment and prevention implementation tools and education for use by dialysis facilities, dialysis partners, and public health partners.
- Create, review, and update CDC recommendations and evidence-based practices to prevent bloodstream infections among hemodialysis patients to support infection prevention initiatives.
- Conduct infection prevention assessments and provide infection prevention guidance for partners in the dialysis specialty including evaluation of infection prevention programs and processes in dialysis settings.
- Develop and disseminate content for CDC response activities and training exercises.
- Develop infection prevention tools and other content for website material and other projects in collaboration with the CDC communications team. Contribute to improving CDC's dialysis patient safety website, particularly its usefulness to Coalition partners and members and navigability.
- Work with CDC partners to provide education on CDC recommendations, dialysis related projects, tools, and resources.
- Support agency emergency response efforts if needed and within scope above.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Seven or more years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience to substitute.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health.
- Experience working Dialysis safety activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Professional working knowledge within SharePoint
- Professional interpersonal and computer skills, to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.
- Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports
