Overview
Chenega is seeking to hire an experienced Scientific Data Analyst II to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Prevention Response Branch(PRB). This person will provide support for Support for Hospital Infection Prevention Implementation activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide logistical and project management expertise for the infection prevention and healthcare worker safety activities in coordination with a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, statisticians, health educators, medical officers, behavioral scientists, and subject matter experts to create CDC recommendations and infection prevention guidance for practitioners and the public. This includes arranging meetings or partner calls, responding to public inquiries, sending CDC recommendations to partners, and providing technical drafts or recommendations to CDC.
- Maintain and update technical content of protocols, instructions, and other documents for HAI prevention implementation projects such as measurement instruments, implementation guidance, and Human Subjects/IRB materials.
- Perform data entry, cleaning, and analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) from multiple data sources including but not limited to surveys, focus groups/interviews, and surveillance systems.
- Oversee the design, management, and use of databases for process reporting, outcomes, and other areas of evaluation.
- Develop and prepare data summaries (both qualitative and quantitative), feedback reports, and presentations for partners.
- Develop implementation and assessment tools as well as provide training, technical assistance, and user support to health departments, healthcare facilities, and other partners participating in HAI prevention efforts.
- Confer with and represent the assigned Program and Division in meetings with offices within CDC, grantees, and external partners to foster collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the program.
- Support Branch, Division, and Agency Response efforts when and as needed within scope (e.g. data summaries, assessment tools, data analysis as defined above).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Two (2) to Four (4) or more years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience to substitute.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health
- Experience working infection prevention and healthcare worker safety activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Professional working knowledge within SharePoint
- Professional interpersonal and computer skills, to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.
- Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports
