Overview
Chenega is seeking to hire an experienced Scientific Data Analyst II to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Prevention Response Branch(PRB). This person will provide support for Data Analysis and Management for Outbreak Response Activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain logical database to support Outbreak response in measuring outbreak response activity impact on infections and patient safety related activities.
- Develop and maintain outbreak response working group SharePoint website and make modifications and improvements.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in the function and use of the SharePoint platform as a method of communicating technical assistance information to state public health agencies and other critical partners, including thorough understanding of the application from a user perspective.
- Document and respond to inquiries from existing and prospective external partners and SharePoint platform users and provide user support regarding procedures for correctly interfacing with data reporting functions.
- Perform analysis to develop data and business process models to facilitate evaluation of program impact.
- Coordinate input from partners collaborating on infection prevention and outbreak response issues.
- Conduct analysis, monitor data quality, and disseminate data related to outbreak response activity in reports and presentations to leadership to accomplish public health program goals.
- Provide general information systems and informatics support to Prevention and Response Branch activities.
- Create data and business process models including information requests, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, quality improvement initiatives, or to facilitate evaluation of infection prevention and outbreak response program impact.
- Address gaps in outbreak response and create tools to improve response functions; disseminate and communicate developed tools with public health partners for implementation.
- Support agency emergency response efforts if needed and within scope above.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Two (2) to Four (4) or more years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience to substitute.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health
- Experience working in healthcare infections and patient safety.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Professional working knowledge within SharePoint
- Professional interpersonal and computer skills, to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.
- Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports
